December 2002 Bay of Isles Computers was established in April 1991 - to build and support computer installations in the Esperance region. Since that time, we have grown from a simple, home-based business with just a few customers, to occupy professional offices in the town centre with a fully equipped workshop, employing 10 talented locals. Over the past 11 years, we have worked with our customers to meet their growing IT needs. We have seen the industry change from a time where each system was custom-built, to now - where customers expect a low-cost, high-quality, plug-and-play solution. We have seen the industry contract, as small to medium size distributors disappeared, and larger wholesalers became larger yet. At the same time, as our customer base has grown, so too has your dependence on the emerging technologies. We have maintained and developed our service area, to the point where we now employ 4 full-time technicians. Our service training focus has been sharpened as the developing technologies have become more complex - and as your demand for know-how has increased. We have developed and redeveloped relationships with our suppliers to ensure the delivery of competitive pricing and product support. Our latest move in this changing environment has been to accept an invitation from the Leading Edge Group to join their membership. This Australian-owned group now boasts over 1000 independent retail outlets, in divisions which include music, home theatre, computers, telecommunications, books and video. As new members to Leading Edge (Computers), we now enjoy access to even more competitive pricing - negotiated through the group with quality manufacturers and distributors. We are able to take part in better and more cost-effective marketing activities. We can enjoy non-trade benefits made available through the group which assist us run our business, and reduce costs. All of these benefits will help Bay of Isles Computers continue to deliver better products and computer support in the Esperance area. At the same time, it is important to understand that we retain our independence. Our ownership and management stays in Esperance. Our focus on customer service and installation support will continue to develop. We hope this move will help us grow our relationship with you - over the next 11 years and beyond.
